• Scoring: A raider scores points by successfully tagging opponents. For every player tagged, a point is awarded to the raider's team. If a raider does not return to their half within a single breath or is tackled, they forfeit the attempt.
• Turn Structure: Each team has a set period, typically 30 seconds, to send a raider. The raider must chant "Kabaddi" continuously to indicate they are holding their breath. If the raider fails to do so or gets tackled, the opposing team earns points.
• Tackling: Defenders can initiate a tackle using various techniques to stop the raider. A successful tackle sees the raider out of the game temporarily, while defenders scored points for their team.
• Substitutions: Teams can substitute players, but this is typically done at certain intervals during the game to maintain the competitive balance.
• Bonus Points: In certain formats, bonus points can be awarded for specific achievements, such as tagging players from the opposing team who have already been weakened or are out of play.
• Match Duration: A standard Kabaddi match consists of two halves, each lasting 20 minutes, with a 5-minute break between them. The team with the most points at the end wins.
